You go, Gilmore girl! Lauren Graham switched things up by wearing her hair in a messy topknot — a departure from her signature loose, side-parted waves.
The Gilmore Girls actress, 49, hit the Hollywood screening of Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life on October 5, in a long-sleeved, dark blue midi covered in white, red, green and light blue blooms. She teamed the dress with bright red suede Loeffler Randall Ellie Ankle Tie High Heeled Sandals and a sapphire blue Edie Parker Jean Clutch.
Along with her on-trend look, Graham’s hair really caught our eye. The Talking as Fast as I Can author swept her brunette locks into a bun that sat at the top of her head with a few loose tendrils in the back. Usually when the Parenthood star steps out, she leaves her curly hair loose (see below for proof!). But her updo really allowed her to show off her glossy red lip and piercing baby blue eyes, which were lined with a black eye pencil.
In a 2011 interview, the star opened up on why she chooses to stick to the same style. “Well, part of my job is pretending. And I’ve honestly never led with my looks,” she told Health.com. “I’ve always thought my strengths were I’m smart, and I have a good sense of humor.”
And there’s no reason for all the fuss, anyway. She describes her style as D.C. meets California. “Growing up [in D.C.], I can remember a girl coming to me and saying, ‘Do you want to be preppy with me?’ And I was like, ‘Yes.’ Back then, you were disco or preppy,” she noted. “But then you come to California, and it’s a little more laid back and Bohemian. My boyfriend has a friend who calls me Bootsy because I wear jeans tucked into boots 9 times out of 10! I have way too many jeans. But I never seem to have a top to wear.”
