The Brown family is back! TLC’s Sister Wives returns for season 8 on Sunday, November 27, with weekly two-hour episodes, and this close-knit clan has not seen the last of the drama, tears or — in the show’s true fashion — weddings!
This season focuses on the gang restrengthening familial ties and healing the wounds that emerged last season after Meri Brown, first wife of Kody Brown, was discovered to be a victim of catfishing. To make matters worse, Meri, 45, told the person who she was communicating with online that she loved him. This unsettling revelation ultimately produced many strains in Meri’s relationship with Kody, 48, and with the couple’s daughter, Mariah, 21.
Kody revealed last season that he was completely unaware of Meri’s online relationship, as the couple was already “struggling enough.” However, a new TLC trailer displays the patriarch talking to Mariah about the incident, as she has not yet forgiven her mother’s behavior.
Kody admits to his daughter, “I am not doubting that I was somewhat a catalyst” in the scandal. However, Kody later tells the camera that the intimate conversation with his daughter was “a mistake to be filmed.” Meri and Kody will spend time this season working to discover the root of their issues in an effort to save their 26-year marriage.
Season 8 will also follow Christine’s daughter Mykelti, 20, as she reveals that she is engaged to Antonio Padron, her boyfriend of five months. The Browns seem to disapprove of this match, and in the new trailer, Christine voices her concern: “Mykelti is so different when [Antonio’s] around. She’s quiet, and she’s reserved.” Also troubling to Kody is that the engagement news comes only two weeks after Janelle’s daughter Madison, 21, wed Caleb Brush. Let the wedding bells chime on!
