Back at it again with the braids. Kylie Jenner rocked a headful of platinum blonde cornrows for Kanye West’s Los Angeles concert on Tuesday, November 1.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star had donned a long blonde wig with streaks of black and small braids as part of her Christina Aguilera “Dirrty”-era Halloween costume on Sunday, October 30. After partying, she wore her brassy shoulder-length locks loose in her Tuesday, November 1, Snapchat story, where she played with the Deadpool and Hello Kitty filters.
But Jenner, who’s a hair chameleon, nixed that look for a series of straight-back braids secured with black rubber bands that hung past her shoulders. She also donned a simple black T-shirt dress, a tattoo choker, ruby red Puma creepers and an ivory Hermès Birkin handbag.
“So Jordyn [Woods, her best friend] and T [Tyga, her boyfriend] forced me out the house tonight,” Jenner remarked in a Snapchat video. “I am having a lot of fun, but the only outfit I could find was this big-ass T-shirt.”
This isn’t the first time that Jenner has sported the sleek braids. For her 19th birthday on August 10, she rocked fiery red plaits to match her red one-piece swimsuit. Not everyone is a fan of the teen’s daring ‘do, though. When Jenner Instagrammed a selfie showing off her brunette cornrows in July 2015, Amandla Stenberg called her out for cultural appropriation.
“@novemberskyys when u appropriate black features and culture but fail to use ur position of power to help black Americans by directing attention towards ur wigs instead of police brutality or racism #whitegirlsdoitbetter,” the Hunger Games star commented.
Jenner noticed and chose to clap back. “@amandlastenberg Mad if I don’t, Mad if I do…. Go hang w Jaden or something,” referring to their mutual friend, Jaden Smith.
