Breaking up is hard to do. But it doesn’t have to be ugly. That’s why Morgan Lynn, whose parents finalized their divorce on November 3, tweeted a photo of the bouquet her dad, Jason, sent her mom, Jennifer, when they made their split legal.
Morgan, 17, wrote that she broke down in tears when she saw her father’s sweet gesture, which included a card that read, “Always Gonna Be You.” And the high school junior from Pearland, Texas, wasn’t alone. Her November 3 tweet went viral, with nearly 77,000 retweets and more than 230,000 likes.
Jason and Jennifer were married for 19 years. “This woman is the love of my life,” the father of four tells Us Weekly. “November 3 was a rough day and I wanted to lift her spirits a little bit. So I researched a couple of florists and looked at pictures online. The bouquet I chose was called A Little Pink Me Up, which was perfect.”

And there is special meaning behind the note. “Kenny Chesney’s ‘You Had Me From Hello’ was our wedding song,” Jason tells Us. “‘Always Gonna Be You’ is another Kenny Chesney song. I heard it for the first time when our marriage was coming apart and the lyrics really hit me. If you look at the YouTube playback on that song, I’m probably 500,000 of the 546,000 plays.”
The project manager for Comcast says that he and Jennifer and their children, Kayleigh, 20, Morgan, Peyton, 10, and Cooper, 8, will most likely spend the holidays together. “Jennifer and I couldn’t make it work as husband and wife, but my prayer is that we can make it as friends in life,” Jason says. “We have these special kids that we brought into the world together.”
