The queen of country! In celebration of Miranda Lambert’s 33rd birthday on Thursday, November 10, Us Weekly Video dug up five things you may not know about the country superstar. Watch the video above to learn how Lambert got her start in music and more!
The “White Liar” songstress, who hails from the tiny town of Lindale, Texas, broke onto the country scene with the help of the now-defunct reality singing competition Nashville Star in 2003. While Lambert may be the biggest star to come out of the show, she finished third on her season.
Two years and one hit album later, the blonde bombshell met her future husband Blake Shelton when they performed together at the CMT 100 Greatest Duets concert in 2005. The pair sang “You’re the Reason God Made Oklahoma” together and immediately felt a spark.
They tied the knot in 2011 in a star-studded ceremony at the Don Strange Ranch in Boerne, Texas. The day was extra special because Lambert donned a simple ivory gown that her mother, Beverly June Hughes, wore on her wedding day.
However, after four years of marriage, the country couple called it quits in 2015. Now, Lambert is happily dating musician Anderson East. They recently stepped out on the red carpet together for the 2016 CMA Awards in early November.
