Did you love Gigi Hadid‘s brushed-back waves at the 2016 American Music Awards on Sunday, November 20? (A look, we must note, that lasted the AMAs cohost through six outfit changes!) Well, you’re in luck, because celebrity hairstylist Nunzio Saviano visited the Us Weekly Video Studio and recreated the elegant ‘do for a special Red Carpet Daily Extra. Watch!
“It’s fresh,” Saviano told Stylish. “We see a lot of the beachy waves and the curls, but it’s always down, it’s never back. So this is really fresh.” And, as he noted, Hadid worked a similar style — a brushed-back faux bob — last year, too. “You may think [Gigi’s style] is only great for long hair, but it looked amazing on short hair, too.”
To start, grab your favorite volumizing spray. “That’s going to give you the body and texture you need, to make it easier to work with,” Saviano explained. Then, using your fingers as a comb, dry your hair back and away from your face. After that, you’ll be ready to start curling — but, of course, to maintain that voluminous crown, you don’t want to curl full strands.
To see exactly what Saviano did next — and the products he used — watch the video. And keep checking back with Red Carpet Daily and Us Weekly Facebook for “Extra” celeb-inspired how-tos!
