Simple but stunning! Natalie Portman had Us swooning over her effortlessly tousled curls at the 22nd Annual Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday, December 11. And according to her celeb hairstylist, Bryce Scarlett, all it took was a few key products.
“Natalie’s Alexander McQueen dress has a ’70s feel, so we wanted the hair to be a fun and glamorous bohemian look,” Scarlett tells Stylish.

Scarlett, who also works with Kate Upton and Gigi Hadid, started by spritzing Fekkai Blowout Primer all over Portman’s hair and brushing it in for a frizz-free foundation. He then added a quarter-sized dollop of Fekkai Full Blown Volume Lightweight Styling Whip at the roots. He used a fine comb to create a deep side part, separated her hair into sections and blew it all out with a round brush for prime bounciness.

After teasing the roots, Scarlett took the 1-inch ghd Curve Classic Curl Iron and curled those same sections into an S-shape wave, making sure each curled in the same direction. He pinned the curls around her face to make sure they held and let them set for 10 minutes before releasing them.
He sprayed Fekkai Blowout Refresher Dry Shampoo directly onto a boar brush and used it to brush out her curls for a “soft, fluffy style” and finished with a generous spray of hairspray.
Oscar-winning Portman, 35, who’s pregnant and expecting her second child with husband Benjamin Millepied, completed her beauty look with lush lashes, blushed cheeks and a red statement lip, which matched the crimson trim on her McQueen dress.
