Two days before Alan Thicke's death, the actor's wife, Tanya Thicke, shared a sweet photo of the couple in the car.
In the pic, the Growing Pains alum sits behind the wheel while Tanya smiles adoringly at him. He is wearing sunglasses, a button-up shirt and a blue jacket.
"I've got the cutest designated driver EVER!!!!" the actress captioned the Instagram pic Sunday, December 11. "JP & @eloisedejoria sure know how to throw a party! Thx you for having us."
As previously reported, Thicke died at age 69 Tuesday after suffering a heart attack while playing hockey with his 19-year-old son, Carter. Darin Mathewson, vice president of Pickwick Gardens Ice skating rink, told Entertainment Tonight that Thicke was coherent and speaking with his son as he was transported to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center.
Alan and Tanya tied the knot in May 2005. The actor had Carter with his second wife, Gina Marie Tolleson, and is also dad of R&B singer Robin Thicke and Brennan Thicke from his first marriage to actress Gloria Loring.
Robin, 39, paid tribute to his father in an Instagram post Tuesday. "He was the best man I ever knew. The best friend I ever had," he wrote. "Let’s all rejoice and celebrate the joy he brought to every room he was in. We love you Alan Thicke. Thank you for your love. Love, your grateful son."
