Never Over You. Blake Shelton remembered his late brother, Richie Shelton, who died in a car crash 25 years ago in a touching new message on the anniversary of his death on Friday, Nov. 13.
Wow… 25 years ago today we lost my brother Richie Shelton. He's still my hero going strong. Wish everyone could've known him.

Richie was killed at age 24, back in 1990, when Blake was 14 years old. The impact of his death has lasted with the country superstar throughout the past two decades, and has even inspired several hit songs from Shelton, and his ex-wife Miranda Lambert.
The former couple, who divorced this past August after four years of marriage, penned a beautiful, award-winning ballad together in 2011 called "Over You" — which they exclusively debuted to Us Weekly at the time — in memory of Richie. The heartbreaking lyrics included: "But you went away / How dare you? / I miss you / They say I’ll be okay / But I’m not going to ever get over you."
Equally devastating was the music video, which featured Lambert walking through a snow-covered, wooded area as two young boys are seen playing in the background. Eventually, one of the kids disappears. Lambert released the hit under her album Four the Record, and won Song of the Year with her former husband at the 2012 CMAs in November of that year.
"It's a very, very personal song," Miranda Lambert told Us Weekly at the time of "Over You."
Shelton intentionally chose to abstain from singing the lyrics himself. "I asked him a year ago, 'Do you want this song? It's obviously about your life,'" Lambert told Us in October 2011. "And he said he'd rather me have it, mainly because he wasn't sure he could get through it every night onstage. It's one of our favorite songs."
