Time to get jiggy wit it! Will Smith is “pretty certain” that he’ll be heading out on tour with DJ Jazzy Jeff in summer 2016. The Bad Boys 3 star announced the news during Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show on Monday, Oct. 5.
“Jeff and I actually have never done a full tour. I was always on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air or making a movie,” Smith, 47, said. “I’m looking this summer to be the first time we go out on a full world tour.”
He added: “I’m terrified.”
Smith went on to reveal that he worked on new music while shooting his upcoming thriller Suicide Squad, and has recorded up to 30 tracks.
Smith and Jazzy Jeff have been longtime collaborators both on and off stage. The DJ, 50, previously guest starred on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and the two have made hits such as “Summertime” and “Parents Just Don’t Understand.”
Earlier this month, the dad of three returned to music after 10 years(!) with a remix of Bomba Estéreo’s “Fiesta.” On Monday, Smith joked that it’s taken him so long because he’s been a bit preoccupied the last decade.
“I’ve been away doing some other stuff. Making kids and stuff. You know, it takes a little bit of your attention away,” he said to Lowe, laughing. “I’m at the beginning of this process. Shaking the rust off, knocking the dust off.”
