Julianne Hough’s engagement ring from Brooks Laich does not disappoint. The NHL hockey player popped the question to the Safe Haven actress with a custom Lorraine Schwartz-designed oval-cut diamond ring that’s more than six carats, a source confirms to Us Weekly.
“It’s such a beautiful stone,” the insider tells Us of Hough’s giant new rock. And the story behind it is even more precious. “Brooks started working with Lorraine about eight months ago and it was really important to find the perfect stone that reflected Julianne's classically beautiful style,” the source adds.
The happy couple announced their engagement via Instagram on Tuesday, Aug. 18.
"We are overwhelmed with joy and excitement to share with you our recent engagement!" the Dancing With the Stars judge, 27, wrote alongside an adorable snap of herself staring at her ring and embracing her future husband, 31. "#fiancé #love."
The Washington Capitals player was introduced to Ryan Seacrest’s ex-girlfriend through a mutual friend back in 2013. “She’s happier than ever,” a source told Us at the time.
“What a week it's been! I'm just so happy and feeling so loved from all of you, and wanted to give you a quick update on everything. I can't wait to share our wedding planning adventures with you over the next few months — you guys always give the best advice!” Hough captioned a black-and-white Instagram photo of herself kissing Laich on Wednesday, Aug. 19.
We can’t wait!
