Working together! In the Season 11 premiere of Little People, Big World, Matt and Amy Roloff — who announced in June that they are divorcing after 27 years of marriage — butt heads when it comes to running the farm they own together.
In Us Weekly‘s exclusive clip, Matt loops Amy into a prospective purchase when she tells him she wants to be more involved in the day-to-day operations of their Oregon homestead. But the reality TV matriarch isn’t on board with the pressure washer he wants to buy.
“Matt definitely knows a lot about the farm,” she says. “Not all of those choices and decisions of where we spend our money I agree with. It can’t be so lopsided. He definitely has to back down and allow for my input.”
But Matt thinks his estranged wife’s reaction is just a knee-jerk response. “Sometimes Amy just reacts and says, ‘The answer is no.’ If she wants to be more involved in the business of the farm, she has to think of the farm as more like a business,” he points out. “You’ve got to spend money to make money.”
The couple, whose tense relationship will be explored throughout the eleventh season of the TLC reality hit, is clearly at odds. “You never feel the love when you don’t get your way,” Amy tells her husband. “You’re like an adult child. So, you know, I have to be the parent. That’s not always a fun job.”
Little People Big World airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
