Snuggly to split in less than a week! Three days before Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff announced their breakup to Us Weekly in a joint statement, Bachelorette alum Cody Sattler wrote on Instagram that the then-engaged pair were "cuddling on the couch."
"Just watching some Bachelorette with @souleschris and @whitb624," Sattler, who got to know Soules as a contestant on Andi Dorfman's season of the reality show, wrote on Monday, May 25. "While those two cuddle on the couch I get this little cutie to snuggle with! This little dog is such a lover!"
Alongside Sattler's update was a photo of the buff reality star, 28, cuddling Bischoff's Maltese puppy Lillie.
Three days later, the pair told Us that their romance was over, just two months after viewers watched Soules, 33, propose to the Chicago-based fertility nurse, 29, on the season 19 Bachelor finale.
"Whitney Bischoff and Chris Soules have mutually and amicably decided to end their engagement," the couple revealed in a joint statement. "They part with nothing but respect and admiration for one another and will continue to be supportive friends. They wish to thank everyone who has supported them through this journey."
Soules' final Instagram post with Bischoff was taken last Wednesday, May 20, after the finale of Dancing With the Stars. "Post-show pic with the fam," the Iowa farmer wrote, alongside a group pic with his parents. "I truly am the world's luckiest guy. Love you @whitb624."
While the split was shocking to many, a source told Us that it was a clean breakup. "Nothing dramatic happened," the insider said. "They just realized that they weren’t meant to be together forever."
A second source told Us: "There is no real drama. They just didn't get a chance to know each other well and their lives are in different places."
