This farmer is back on the market. Bachelor star Chris Soules and his fiancee Whitney Bischoff announced their split just two months after their season's finale on Thursday, May 28. The news is a shock to many, perhaps because the engaged couple appeared more in love than ever just weeks before.
Earlier this month, Chicago fertility nurse Bischoff — who never officially moved out to Arlington, Iowa with Soules — posted a sweet throwback of the two from their proposal. "#tbt can't believe this was almost 6 months ago…seems just like yesterday," the 29-year-old gushed via Instagram on May 7.
Just two weeks ago, she also hit the road with her pup to visit him. She wrote in a second pic: "Road trippin #iowabound."
Soules, meanwhile, has been keeping busy on his family's farm since his May 6 elimination on Dancing With the Stars. He last posted about Bischoff during the DWTS finale on May 20. "Post-show pic with the fam. I truly am the world's luckiest guy. Love you @whitb624," he captioned via Instagram. On April 23, he also celebrated "nationalloversday" with his then bride-to-be.
Despite the sweet messages, rumors did swirl that there was trouble in paradise, especially when Bischoff didn't show up to some of his DWTS shows. "I miss her, but I think it’s healthy for her to be away. [Tonight] she's with family, it's actually the anniversary of her mom's death," Soules, 33, told Us Weekly on May 4, with his DWTS partner Witney Carson by his side. "She's my number one fan. So I know she's there for me and when all of this is over it'll be nice to just be together."

As previously reported, the pair continue to have "respect and admiration" for one another and will be "supportive friends" nonetheless, according to their statement. Just days before the news, Bischoff also proved that she can still be friendly with other Bachelor alums — Soules' exes. Runner-up Becca Tilley posted an Instagram photo of herself and Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe FaceTiming Bischoff on Tuesday.
"Nothing dramatic happened. They just realized that they weren’t meant to be together forever," a source tells Us. A second adds: "There is no real drama. They just didn't get a chance to know each other well and their lives are in different places."
