Strong bonds. Bruce Jenner's family members took to Twitter and Instagram on Friday, April 24, to send the Olympic athlete, 65, support and love as his highly anticipated interview with Diane Sawyer aired on ABC.
Brandon Jenner, Bruce's 33-year-old son from his second marriage to Linda Thompson, shared a touching photo via Instagram in the moments before the interview began. The reality star posted a shot of himself as a young boy, riding on his grinning father's shoulders.
"Proud son," Brandon wrote simply.
Bruce's stepdaughter Khloe Kardashian began to tweet as the opening sequence to the 20/20 special hit airwaves. "LIFE," Kris Jenner's 30-year-old daughter wrote.
As Sawyer, 69, showed footage of Bruce in the Olympics and the longtime star discussed his gender identity as a woman, Khloe tweeted, "Worlds Greatest Athlete," adding three heart emojis.
Khloe, who is watching the special with her family members by her side, went on to retweet a message from Lady Gaga, who wrote with a heart, "#BruceJennerABC Now that is bravery."
Kylie Jenner retweeted the same words, going on to share another message from the singer reading, "We have the chance to write this moment in history together. Let's empower people like Bruce all over the world by being loving & not mean."

Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, and Kendall Jenner joined their sisters at the end of the show, also sending their support to Bruce.

Kris Jenner also chimed in on Friday evening, tweeting, "Not only was I able to call him my husband for 25 years and father of my children, I am now able to call him my hero."
Bruce's bravery was clear as he spoke candidly to Sawyer. After dodging questions for months if not years, he told the journalist without hesitation in the special, "For all intents and purposes, I am a woman."
