Dishing her style secrets!
One of the perks that comes along with being an actress is having the opportunity to play dress-up all the time. That said, Janet Montgomery lucked out when she was cast to play Mary Sibley on WGN’s Salem. The wardrobe for the 17th century drama, which airs its second season beginning Sunday, April 5, calls for blooming gowns and dramatic accessories.
“For me, clothes are such a big part of my process when I’m getting into character,” the star, 29, said. “As an actress, I can channel moments and emotions and feelings that then come though in the pictures.”
Sibley’s wardrobe, according to Montgomery, can be best described as “extravagant, huge, and dark.”
The star of the supernatural thriller, which also stars Lucy Lawless, says her character’s taste is very different from her own. “Janet is very different from Mary, I’m always about comfort,” she said. “I like to get dressed up for an event or something, but most of the time I just want to wear something that’s comfortable.”
Montgomery’s comfort staples can be easily found in any fashion lover’s closet. “Everyone should have a pair of black jeans and a black leather jacket.”
