Teresa Giudice has been sentenced to serve her 15 month jail time at the Danbury, Connecticut prison camp that the series Orange Is the New Black is based on, the Associated Press reported.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star made a request earlier this week to serve most of her sentence at a halfway house, which would have allowed her to work, and make visits home during the weekend.
On Wednesday, Oct. 22, however, a federal judge told the reality TV star her request would not be granted, and that her timing for such applications was all wrong.
As Us Weekly previously reported, Guidice's crisis manager Wendy Feldman ended her contract with her high-profile client on Monday, Oct. 20, for not following due process in her representations to the Bureau of Prisons.
Guidice, 42, who was sentenced to 15 months in prison for bankruptcy fraud and conspiracy with her husband Joe Giudice (he received a 41-month sentence) has been told to report to the prison camp facility on Jan. 5, 2015. The couple will not serve their sentences concurrently so one parent is always available to be home with their four daughters. Find out all the details of Teresa and Joe's sentences.
The prison camp is the inspiration behind the hit Netflix series OITNB, which is based on a memoir by Piper Kerman, who served a year at the facility.
Guidice will not be the only celebrity resident Danbury has seen in recent months. On Friday, Oct. 3, singer Lauryn Hill was released from the prison camp, after serving a three-month sentence for tax evasion.
