After becoming blue as Neytiri in 2009’S Avatar, Zoe Saldana tried on a different shade of the rainbow as Gamora in the new Guardians of the Galaxy.
As the trained assassin Gamora, Saldana became kelly green for the Marvel flick, also starring Chris Pratt and Bradley Cooper.
While the Star Trek actress, 36, pulls both shades off with aplomb, she admits one is better than the other. “Blue was easier,” Saldana, in Louis Vuitton, said on the red carpet at the premiere in NYC on July 21. “I never even had to get make up done. I just showed up and then they did everything in post.”
The process to become the green-skinned superhero in the film, out Friday, July 25, was a bit more complicated. “This one I got picked up at three in the morning — and my dog wasn’t even happy about that,” she said. “I had to sit for five hours for five months. It was crazy, but it paid off. The movie is fantastic.”
