Don’t shade LC! Lauren Conrad proved she is not one to be messed with on Monday, July 21, when she sniped back at Allure magazine.
The former reality star turned successful businesswoman, 28, took to Twitter to share a photo from the publication. In a page called “Typecasting” under Beauty & the Beat, Allure identifies four different types of women and gives descriptions and examples of stars who embody the personality.
While Vanessa Hudgens was dubbed the “Bohemian Hippie” and Man Repeller‘s Leandra Medine nabbed “Street Stylist,” Conrad was left with the less-than-flattering “Basic.”
Under a paparazzi photo of The Hills alum it reads, “Basic: Made famous by Kreayshawn, and viral by YouTube, the Basic woman is remarkably unremarkable. What’s noteworthy about her style is its very plainness. Except to her. She swears those red-soled shoes are cutting-edge.”
The type that Allure identifies was referenced in Kreayshawn’s sleeper hit single “Gucci Gucci,” which has her rapping about “basic bitches.”
The piece then goes on to assert that the Basic woman wears “sausage curls” and smells like “vanilla-cupcake body milk.”
Conrad did not ignore the diss, but rather shared it on Twitter, calling out the magazine the way she once did with Heidi Montag and Kristin Cavallari.
“I definitely just got called a basic b*tch!” she tweeted. “Haha! Sausage curls!? Really @Allure_magazine?”
While representatives for Allure have yet to comment on the feud, the magazine was celebrating the fashion designer and author just days ago. On Saturday, July 19, the brand heralded Conrad’s so-called “Basic” style, tweeting about the “11 beauty lessons we’ve learned from @laurenconrad.” The blonde beauty, who is engaged to marry fiancé William Tell, was also featured on the cover of the April issue of Allure earlier this year.
