Amazonian Angel! Newly single supermodel Adriana Lima made her first post-split appearance at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala in New York City on Monday, May 5, looking fierce and independent on the red carpet.
Lima, 32, who announced her separation from husband of five years, Marko Jaric, last Friday, attended the star-studded ball in an armored Givenchy Haute Couture gown. "A strong silhouette for tonight…thank you," the Brazilian beauty wrote on Instagram ahead of the Met Gala.
Indeed, Lima channeled her inner Amazonian warrior in a brown sequined and ribbed leather dress, the look custom-designed by Riccardo Tisci. The stunning supermodel left her brunette tresses parted down the center, and wore makeup that accentuated her piercing blue eyes.

Married since 2009, Jaric and Lima's split announcement came "after long and careful consideration," they said in a joint statement. The parents to daughters Valentina, 4, and Sienna, 2, told Us Weekly: "We are grateful to be the parents of two incredible young daughters that we will continue to co-parent. We would greatly appreciate your respect for our family's privacy as we begin this delicate next chapter for all members of our family."
