Proving that simple can be sexy, Emily VanCamp looked gorgeous with sleek blonde hair at the Captain America: Winter Soldier premiere on March 13 in Hollywood.
While red carpet hairstyles can be more intricate than a Revenge plotline, VanCamp's style is a cinch to recreate. "I love a look that’s a mix of soft and edgy, that’s why I wanted smooth, soft hair to complement my [Monique Lhuillier] metallic dress for the red carpet," VanCamp, 27, told Us Weekly. The TV veteran plays S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Sharon Carter opposite Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson in the comic book hero sequel.
Celeb hairstylist David Gardner opted against waves for VanCamp's premiere look. "I wanted to give her a silky straight blowout with some volume at the root that would move with her as she walked the red carpet," Gardner said.
He applied an egg-sized amount of Herbal Essences Naked Volumizing Souffle at the roots and worked it through her hair. For greater lift in the front, he used a bit more at the hairline.
Then, sectioning the hair from ear to ear around the back of her head, he pinned up the top section up and blew dry the bottom section using a large round brush. He finished with the top section, making sure the hairline was completely dry. Then he spritzed VanCamp's entire mane with Herbal Essences Naked Sheer Shine and set the hair in five large Velcro rollers (one away from the face on top, one on each side, and two at the crown). After spraying Herbal Essences Naked Flexible Hold Spritzer all over, Garden let the hair cool, removed the curlers, and ran a brush through the hair.
The result was soft, can't-take-your-hands-off hair. "I can't stop playing with my hair," VanCamp told Us. "It's so touchable soft!"
