Sorry ladies, the role of Jared Leto's next ex-wife has already been claimed. The Dallas Buyers Club star, 42, has professed his love for 12 Years a Slave breakout actress Lupita Nyong'o at the 2014 Independent Spirit Awards when he took to the stage to accept his award.
The Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman picked up yet another Best Supporting Male trophy for his role as the transgender AIDS patient Rayon.
Dedicating his award to the "36 million people who've died of AIDS and the 35 million who are living with HIV and AIDS around the world today," Leto took the time to thank costars Jennifer Garner and Matthew McConaughey and the late James Gandolfini and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
But his speech took a turn for the silly when he thanked, "my future ex-wife. Lupita, I'm thinking about you baby."
The Yale drama grad, 31, also accepted the award for Best Supporting Female as Leto grinned in the audience. Nyong'o, who made a name for herself playing the tragic slave Patsey in her first film role, introduced her new bestie to her mother Dorothy Nyong'o.
The two Oscar favorites will be in attendance at Sunday's Academy Awards, and if things go according to plan, they will likely have the opportunity to thank one another in their acceptance speeches.
Tell Us: Do you think Lupita Nyong'o and Jared Leto would make a cute couple?
