Slated for March 2, the Academy Awards still feel very, very far away — that’s over a month until Lupita Nyong’O unveils her Oscar dress! The undisputed breakout star of the 2014 awards season turned heads yet again at the Producers’ Guild of America Awards in Beverly Hills on Sunday, Jan. 19. After wowing in turquoise Gucci the night before at the SAGs and in red Ralph Lauren at last week’s Golden Globes, the 12 Years a Slave actress, 30, opted for a more neutral hue: A mocha-toned, elegant Stella McMartney dress. The fitted, knee-length number featured an asymmetrical shoulder. Click here for more photos from the PGA Awards.
Among the many who noticed the stunning actress at the bash? Leonardo DiCaprio, who took a moment to give the newcomer a polite kiss on each cheek and some words of encouragement on the red carpet. The Kenyan-born Yale School of Drama grad accessorized with Stella McCartney shoes, Jamie Wolf jewelry and a Chesneau Heltzel Minaudières clutch.
How does Nyong’O — who could very well squeak past Jennifer Lawrence to win the Best Supporting Actress Oscar in March — get ready (and stay calm) for all of her jaw-dropping red carpet appearances this awards season?
“Sleep well, exercise every day, meditate, spend time with yourself!” she told Us Weekly at Sunday’s PGAs, where 12 Years a Slave tied with Gravity in the Best Picture category.
