Curtis Stone has cooked for the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Conan O'Brien and Meredith Vieira, but the Aussie foodie tells Us Weekly his ultimate sous chef is none other than his 2-year-old son, Hudson! The host of Bravo's Top Chef Masters and an advocate for Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign to end child hunger, Stone is teaching his son early about the importance of healthy eating habits.
"We go out into the veggie garden together," Stone explains of Hudson, whom he welcomed with actress wife Lindsay Price in 2011. "I'm lucky enough to have access to great quality ingredients and to be able to teach him about where food comes from. We do juices and cooking together — it's a lot of fun!"
One of Stone's favorite meals he cooks with Hudson is breakfast, he tells Us Weekly. "The first thing we do every morning is pick a couple things from the garden and make our juice together. We cook oatmeal, eggs — really simple stuff," the proud dad reveals.
Though Stone, 38, himself has 20 years of professional cooking experience — he began his career in the kitchen of Australia's Savoy Hotel at age 18 — he is surprised his son is following in his footsteps so soon. "It's bizarre," muses Stone of Hudson's early interest in food. "I never wanted to put my [career interests] onto my son, but he sees me in the kitchen a lot. He says 'Cooking, dada. Cooking!' and he comes and helps. He really enjoys it!"
