Aubrey Plaza doesn't follow trends — she sets them. The Parks and Recreation actress, 29, went for a very different, very high-fashion look at the 2013 Emmy Awards on Sunday, Sept. 22.
Hitting the red carpet outside L.A.'s Nokia Theatre, Plaza stunned in a long-sleeved Marios Schwab gown with all-over black lace and a bejeweled high neck. She paired the unique frock with Neil Lane jewels, Rupert Sanderson shoes, and a Just Fab clutch.
Plaza is no stranger to risk-taking, both on and off the carpet. As the star of The To Do List — a coming-of-age comedy about a recent high school graduation who makes it her mission to gain some sexual experience before college — the comedienne had to let go of all her inhibitions.
"You don't have time to get nervous," she told Cosmopolitan for Latinas of the raunchy flick. "Sometimes when you're shooting independent movies the pacing of it is so crazy, it all feels like you're in the army."
She continued: "It was like, 'So today I'm gonna have to give someone a bl-w job, hump a pillow, masturbate in front of everyone.' So I'd be like 'Oh, my god,' and I would let myself freak out about it for like three minutes in my trailer, and then I would be like, 'Done.' I'm in the army, I have to just do it, ignore everyone else, and just make it funny. I think, like, the fact that it was a comedy, I got to find the humor in it."
