Leave it to Kate Upton to keep fans warm through a chilly winter storm! The 20-year-old model will appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue for the second year in a row, it was revealed Friday, Feb. 8.
Upton's super-secret cover was leaked online on Friday just ahead of what was meant to be its official unveiling on The Late Show with David Letterman on Monday night, but fans aren't complaining.
"Congratulations Ms.@kateupton! Making history," 2010 cover girl Brooklyn Decker tweeted as soon as word got out.
"We can finally talk about Antarctica!" Upton gleefully tweeted Friday evening. "Took us 2 months to thaw out."
In the photo for the sexy cover, the bubbly model wears a white fitted coat complete with fur hood and a pair of tiny white bikini bottoms. Glaciers can be seen over her right shoulder.
It's a far cry from last year's cover, when the Florida-bred model got social media atwitter over her barely there string bikini.
Other models who have previously covered the magazine multiple times include Elle MacPherson, who modeled back-to-back-to-back bikinis between 1986 and 1988; Christie Brinkley, who also did three years in a row from 1979 through 1981; Paulina Porizkova, who did double duty in 1984 and 1985; and Tyra Banks, who covered the magazine in 1996 and 1997.
