May the celebrations continue! After attending music’s biggest night, countless celebrities moved on to three star-studded 2019 Grammy Awards afterparties in the Los Angeles area.
Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler hosted his second annual viewing party to benefit Janie’s Fund (a philanthropic initiative he launched in 2015 to provide support and services for girls suffering from abuse and neglect) with Live Nation at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.
Republic Records held its afterparty at the Beverly Hills club Spring Place. Over in L.A., Sony Music Entertainment hosted a reception at NeueHouse Hollywood, Universal Music Group threw a bash at a nearby La-La Land venue and Mark Ronson deejayed at his “Club Heartbreak” party.
The parties kicked off shortly after Alicia Keys hosted the 61st annual ceremony at Staples Center, which turned out to be a big night for women. Kacey Musgraves won Album of the Year for Golden Hour, in addition to taking home three other awards. Cardi B became the first solo female rapper to win Best Rap Album for Invasion of Privacy, and Dua Lipa scored this year’s Best New Artist title.
“I guess this year we really stepped up,” Lipa, 23, said while accepting her trophy, seemingly taking aim at Recording Academy president Neil Portnow, who came under fire after the 2018 show for saying that he believed women in music needed “to step up.”
