Gwyneth Paltrow is the queen of wellness, so when she reveals what she eats for breakfast every day, we listen.
The Goop founder, 46, tells Us Weekly she starts her mornings off with a nut milk smoothie. “Right now I use cashew milk,” Paltrow told Us Thursday, November 15 at the release of Goop’s new edible collagen line, GoopGenes.
From the cashew milk base, the Avengers star describes the rest of the process: “Then I use a protein and metabolism powder right now from Thorne. Then I put my GoopGenes, and then depending, I’ll put Ashwagandha in it or an adaptogen depending on what’s going on. Then a ton of spinach,” she said, adding that she’s low in iron. The finishing nutritious touches? “I put cardamom and some turmeric and salt, and one date to give it a little sweetness. It’s pretty good, I’d say.”
“I have a really hard time with breakfast, but I find that if I don’t have anything, then I start to really go off the cliff,” notes the healthy living guru. “I’ve always been a smoothie person, and this is the one I’m having right now.”
Her secret to taking the smoothie to the next level is making the nut milk herself in a Soyabella nut milk maker. “It’s always better, I think, if you can make your own nut milks,” she advises. I think it’s creamier. It’s good.” And the gadget is multipurpose, notes the star, whose fitness instructor, Tracy Anderson, told Us she was in tip-top shape for her September wedding to Brad Falchuk. “You can make rice milk in it, almond milk, you can make any kind of milk,” Paltrow adds.
GoopGenes is described by the company as a marine collagen superpowder. Added to water, the drink is said to support the appearance of smooth, hydrated, more youthful looking skin.
