There’s no denying it would be fun to be a part of this famous family. Oliver Hudson gushed exclusively to Us Weekly about what kind of uncle he is to sister Kate Hudson’s children. (Hint: it’s not a boring one!)
“Oh, yeah. I’m the cool uncle,” the 42-year-old Splitting Up Together star quipped to Us at the Baby2Baby Gala sponsored by Paul Mitchell on Saturday, November 10, in Culver City, California.
“To the point where Kate, you know …” Hudson trailed off. “I let my kids watch movies that I probably shouldn’t, so when Kate’s kids come to my house, I’m sure they’re pretty excited because I let them watch things that Kate will not let them watch.”
As for whether or not allowing the 39-year-old How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days actress’ sons, Ryder, 14, and Bingham, 7, do things she wouldn’t gets him in trouble, the Nashville alum revealed to Us that it “sometimes” does.
“[It’s] worth the risk,” he added. “You need an uncle that’s gonna let them do things. That’s the point of being a cool uncle!”
Hudson also opened up to Us about his sister’s newest little bundle of joy, her newborn daughter Rani. “She’s great. Beautiful, healthy, happy,” he said. “She’s doing great.” (Kate welcomed her baby girl with boyfriend Danny Fujikawa on October 2. The actress shares Ryder with ex-husband Chris Robinson and Bingham with ex-fiancé Matthew Bellamy.)
Oliver and Kate’s parents are Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson. The two were ultimately raised by Hawn, 72, and her longtime life partner Kurt Russell, who entered their life after their parents divorce in 1980 when they were just kids.
