Does Katherine Heigl still have a place at Seattle Grace?
The 33-year-old actress left Grey's Anatomy after six seasons in 2010, following months of badmouthing the ABC medical drama. (At the time, Heigl said she quit the show to focus on raising her newly adopted daughter Naleigh, now 3.)
In a recent interview with E! News, the actress — who next appears on the big screen in One for the Money — said she's been yearning to reprise her role as Dr. Izzie Stevens.
"I've told them I want to [come back]," Heigl said. "I really, really, really want to see where [Izzie] is. I just want to know what happened to her and where she went and what she's doing now."
Heigl — who famously withdrew her name from the 2008 Emmy race because she "didn't feel I was given the material this season to warrant a nomination" — explained that her character still has more stories to tell.
"My idea is that she actually figures it out and finds some success and does really well in a different hospital," Heigl said. "She was always floundering, and so she was always one step behind the eight ball, and I want to see that girl take some power back."
